Howard Mayers has recently completed a Construction course with Back 2 Work in Manchester. During the course he learnt new skills and developed his employability skills and is now working in what het has described as the ‘best job’ he has had for a long time.
Howard’s Experience
Prior to the course, Howard was unemployed but wanted to get a better understanding of the industry and to use it as a stepping stone to achieve his long-term career plans.

What made you want to take part in this course?
I wanted to get the CSCS card to provide a route into gardening.
What did you enjoy most about this course?
Good content and well run.
What new skills and knowledge have you learned?
Coming from a Finance and Procurement background even though I was working in the construction industry but not onsite , this course gave me a fine insight into the smooth and safe running of a construction site.
Did you find that the course met your expectations?
Yes, it did and more.
Did you find employment upon course completion?
Yes
How are you finding employment?
It’s probably the best job I’ve had for a long time.
Were you provided with enough support from the entire team throughout the process?
More than enough support. I have to make a special mention for Leila Mussa who was very supportive and encouraging and couldn’t have done more.
Would you recommend us to others?
