Employment Support Services

Works4U is an employment support programme for local residents in Birmingham and the West Midlands, designed to provide opportunities to upskill, overcome personal challenges, and move into work.

The programme provides wrap-around support to help you find the right opportunity for you, while breaking down any barriers that could be holding you back from finding work.

As part of this employment support, you’ll have the opportunity to gain key employability skills to help you find full-time employment.

You’ll also receive up to 72 hours of wrap-around support provided by a dedicated keyworker, who will work with you to provide all the help and assistance you need.

We recognise that your journey and needs are unique to you, and we tailor the support required to you as an individual.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

Learn strategies for handling disagreements calmly and constructively, promoting a positive work environment.

Discover how to map out career goals and identify the steps to achieve them, tailored to your strengths and interests.

Get guidance on creating a standout CV that highlights your skills and experiences, tailored to your career goals.

Understand the job application process and learn how to effectively showcase your qualifications to employers.

Develop confidence and techniques for acing job interviews, with tips on answering questions and making a strong impression.

Each session is designed to enhance your employability skills and help you approach the job market with confidence.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Aged 19+
  • Live in Birmingham or the West Midlands
  • Earning less than £30k annually
