Learner Feedback: Israa - Digital Bytesize | Back2Work Complete Training

As part of our Digital Bytesize course, the Digital & IT Skills pathway is designed to introduce the basic principles of IT technical support, cybersecurity, computer programming and more.

Each learner receives an accredited Level 2 Diploma upon completion of the course, with further support provided by our progressions team to help them move into full-time employment.

One learner who recently completed the course is Israa from Plymouth.

Israa's story

After a lengthy period of unemployment, Israa decided that she wanted to pursue a career in IT, which would allow her to grow and develop while providing her with the opportunity to look at a range of industries she could potentially work in.

She enrolled on our Digital Bytesize course for this reason, and explained why she opted for the Level 2 Diploma in Digital & IT Skills course.

Key units completed

Israa also told us in great detail about the units she completed during her learning experience with us, and how she now feels more confident in her own IT skills having completed the course.

Before taking this course, I wasn't sure if I could ever learn the IT skills required to pursue a career in this field. However, this course gave me a clear start and the knowledge I needed. The Tutor was very helpful too, which made me confident that I can continue to progress.

I completed relevant projects and tasks such as setting up and securing network infrastructures with configuration of network security, conducting a risk analysis, and finding security weaknesses by using vulnerability assessment tools.

I also used spreadsheet software for data analysis and representation, and digital graphics along with presentation software, which are required to create interesting presentations and graphics to serve the purpose of effective communication.

Enjoyable experience

Not only did Israa successfully complete the course and gain an accredited Level 2 Diploma to add to her CV, but she also gained vital experience and digital skills to help her pursue a career in IT. She reflected on what she enjoyed most about the course, as well as sharing her advice for anyone else who may wish to enrol.

I enjoyed the practical experience within the course the most, by letting me apply theoretical knowledge to real situations. I would strongly recommend this course to anyone. It was a very practical course that gave me the basics of Cybersecurity and IT.

I would now like to continue learning about IT and digital skills, alongside looking for apprenticeships and jobs. In the meantime, I'll be keeping informed about cybersecurity trends, networking with professionals, practicing my skills often, and keeping a curious state of mind.
