As part of our Digital Bytesize course, the Digital & IT Skills Level 2 Diploma is designed to introduce the basic principles of IT technical support, cybersecurity, computer programming and more. 

Each learner receives an accredited Level 2 Diploma upon completion of the course, with further support provided by our progressions team to help them move into full-time employment.

One learner who recently completed the course is Oluwaseun from Leicester.

Oluwaseun's story

After a spell of unemployment, Oluwaseun decided that she wanted to pursue a career in IT, after developing an interest in technology.

She enrolled on our Digital & IT Skills course for this reason, and explained how it gave her the platform to improve her skills, and provided the experience she needed to kickstart a career in this industry.

I chose this course because I have a strong interest in technology and enjoy working with computers, coding, and problem-solving. This course offered me the perfect platform to deepen my knowledge and skills in these areas.

The course has also equipped me with the technical knowledge, practical experience, and professional connections necessary to succeed in the IT industry, thus supporting me in achieving my intended outcomes.

Her experience & advice for others

Oluwaseun also told us more about her experience on the course, and one of the biggest benefits she believes she gained from completing her training. She also explained why she would recommend it to her friends, who also have an interest in pursuing a career in IT.

The course equipped me and the other students with up-to-date knowledge and skills that are in high-demand in the current job market, making us highly employable.

To my friends, I would recommend that they first understand what areas of IT excite them the most, and align this with their career goals. This will help you focus your efforts and make the most of what the course has to offer.

Next steps

Not only did Oluwaseun successfully complete the course and gain an accredited Level 2 Diploma to add to her CV, but she also gained vital experience and digital skills to help her pursue a career in IT. She finishes here by informing us of her next steps after completing the course.

I now plan to tailor my resume and cover letter to highlight the specific skills and projects I completed during the course. I now feel much more confident, and believe that thanks to this course, my new and diverse skill set makes me versatile and well-prepared for various roles in the IT industry.
