"More prepared and confident": Mokena's Story

Our pre-employment training course in Customer Service is designed to introduce the basic principles of customer care and support, with additional qualifications in team leading available for our learners.

Each learner receives an accredited Level 2 Certificate upon completion of the course, with further support provided by our progressions team to help them move into full-time employment.

One learner who recently completed the course is Mokena from Prestwich in Greater Manchester.

Mokena's story

Mokena enrolled on our Customer Service training course to develop his understanding of working in this industry, and gain accredited, relevant qualifications to boost his overall employability.

Having previously graduated from University, he found that he was struggling to find suitable employment and didn’t possess the necessary job searching skills needed.

He told us how the support he received from his tutors was greatly appreciated, and helped to boost his overall confidence when it came to other skills, such as how to put together a professional CV.

The course was well-structured, and the research and educational materials that were provided by the tutors were very helpful.

I learned quite a lot about customer service, and I deeply appreciate the advice I received regarding building a CV. My confidence after completing the course has enabled me to face interviews.

Prepared for employment

Mokena also told us how the knowledge and new skills he gained on the course has better prepared him to pursue a new role working with Customer Services.

I have always wanted to work and I like to work, and I now feel more prepared because I have gained the basic skills and knowledge needed for success and efficiency in the industry.

Next steps

Not only did Mokena successfully complete the course and gain an accredited Level 2 Certificate to add to his CV, but he also gained vital experience and new skills to help him pursue a career in this industry. He told us that he now has several interviews with employers lined up and is looking forward to securing a full-time role working in Customer Services.
