Warehousing Course Feedback: Adewale Adetunmbi

One learner who recently completed the course is Adewale Adetunmbi from Tees Valley.

Adewale's Story

After a recent period of unemployment, Adewale was looking at ways in which he could return to full-time employment in a Warehousing role.

He enrolled on our Warehousing training course for this reason, and revealed that he successfully gained employment on completion of his training.

We asked Adewale about his overall experience on the course and what key lessons he learned from the various units on the course.

I really enjoyed the teaching provided by my instructor. I now understand and appreciate the reasons why health and safety in a warehouse shouldn't be compromised at any time.

I also understand how to identify potential risks when working in a distribution centre and how this can be minimised.

I have also gained an understanding of the British values system, and how this can help any struggling individuals to boost their confidence in the workplace. Overall, the course was was interactive, fun, exciting, instructive and enlightening.

Praise For Tutor

Adewale was also full of praise for his tutor, who he says helped to boost his overall confidence and explained the details and requirements of the course clearly and patiently.

The tutor was brilliant and exceptional. She took the time to take us through the details of the course and was always asking if she was too fast so she can slow down before proceeding.

She also held one-to-one sessions and created a breakroom for individuals like me who needed some more time to process most information. On top of this support, she also created late night sessions for anyone interested after the class had finished for the day.

She is someone who I consider to be my mentor and I'd love to be under her tutelage always.

Successful Interview & New Job

Since completing the course, not only did Adewale receive his industry-accredited Level 1 qualification in Warehousing, but he has also successfully gained employment working at a local distribution centre.

He explained what the course has provided for him in terms of his new skills and knowledge, as well as a new-found confidence in himself.

I've now started in a new role as a Picker at a local distribution centre in Stockton.

I know I can now perform tasks diligently because I am more equipped and informed about various warehouse processes.

I am now very confident about remaining in work and also accessing a higher salary in the future. I can work up to a supervisor or management level and in the meantime, ask if there are available positions where my skills and expertise will be needed.
